Kristopher was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1984 but grew up in Centreville, Maryland on the Eastern Shore until moving back to Baltimore in 2002 to attend Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). At the age of 5, he knew that he wanted to go to MICA and make art a part of his life forever. In 2015 he moved to South Florida and now splits his time between Florida and Asheville, North Carolina when he can. He currently works as a Building Manager for Broward County and has been in Property Management since 2006 when he fell into the business by accident through his best friend.
Kristopher first found his love for art through learning to draw from his family, and spending time with his mother and grandmother in his grandmother’s ceramic studio in her basement. His inspirations always seem to come from nature, especially with his early obsession with whales. Now getting to spend so much time in the Mountains of North Carolina, there is no shortage of natural beauty to inspire his work along with his travels across the county and now the world with his chosen family. When initially attending MICA, he started as a ceramics major, but then switched to Fibers to explore the art of textiles. He now loves to explore different mediums including pencil, pen, watercolor, acrylic, textiles, and clay. By experimenting and combining different mediums, he has been able to create different textures and add elements of surrealism.
